Hey there, I'm kinda new to the DSM game, only had my car for about a year. Came with a 20g and stock manifold...since then I have upgraded in a pretty big way.
My set-up....
-FP 4" intake non recirc (running on SD)
-Stock intake manifold but added 94 N/A throttle body.
-2.5" intercooler piping with a VRSF intercooler which does have the short route.
-HX35 7blade with BEP .70 t3 housing with a OBX ram horn manifold which someone on the site ripped me off on by telling me it was "FULL-RACE".
-tial 40mm wastegate with 1 bar spring in it. Just running on spring pressure.
-HKS 264/272 cams w dual valve springs
-MLS head gasket and arp head studs...i know this doesnt make any diff
-i have apexi 3" downpipe, and full 3" exhaust
I think thats basically it...so....my questions are as follows.
Where should I be seeing it start to spool, and where should I be seeing my full boost 15psi? (This wont be staying at 15psi for long at all)
I can see on my log that its not hitting full boost until almost 4500rpm in 2nd. so obviously in the higher gears this is going to be later as well as when i turn the boost up.
Does that seem right? or do you think I should have quicker spool. I specifically went with the 70 A/R to try and keep the spool a little quicker without sacrificing top end...as compared to the stock 12cm housing.
I am going to attempt to do a boost leak test this weekend, just trying to get my eggs in a row before i go tearing shit apart again considering i just got it together after 2 months of messing around trying to get it running in the middle of the summer.
I also read that tuning the oil pressure on the holset can decrease spool time by around 400rpm, I have a .84 nitrous jet in there right now.
Oh please note we havent even tuned this yet, so i havent adjusted timing or leaned it out at all on the bottom at all to try and pick things up . Thats thursday...but any help or advice is appreciated.
