I have a question I wanted to see if anyone has considered a wet shot to build boost in a 2g with a HX35 to decrease the lag?

Trying to get details about HX35 spool time versus a bastard 20g everyone says there's a noticeable lag. it would be a summer DD but I don't want the car to drive like a dog light to light , some people are saying you can tune lag out, however I am concerned about retarding the exhaust too much and building to much cylinder heat. People are generally saying expect boost by 3800-5500 thats pretty vague. So I was just trying to see if we could spool the turbo a bit sooner.

2step it away... no need of nitrous for this purpose.. unless youre trying to spool a big turbo or auto. exhaust temps and pressure would only rise a bit till the car starts moving.

Wait I'm confused you wana spray it on the street to go grocery shopping???

No @dude1988 I just want to know how bad lag really is and do I need to have some crazy chemical concoction for spooling a turbo from 15-20 mph and what fuel builds load and spool faster gas or e85

Spend the money that you'd pay for a nitrous kit on a twin scroll setup and keep the cams mild. If you're after every rpm, wrap your manifold and put a blanket on your turbine housing.

I'm not really sure anyone on here can give you the answers you are looking for because they are so case specific.

However, a few observations/opinions:
-The power levels (mentioned in your profile) you are looking for should be within grasp of your current 20g setup.
-I probably have the slowest spooling hx35 setup in existence and I feel it is very drivable/usable, even on the street
-At one point I did similar research to what you are doing now, the conclusion I came to is you just have to do it and figure out what works for you
-I don't think Naaaaawwwwszzz is the solution. Build your setup and tune from there

I know these are all pretty much non answers for your question(s), but I hope it helps...

Good luck

@NordicSaab very true, however I hate seeing deals dangled in front of me and not puruing it. The fact I can easily attain close to 500 HP and still have a street able cars sound intoxicating to any gear head. Im just fighting with the concept. Will do I'll put it together with a 20g drive it and make a decision

Your tune plays pretty big into how early in the rpm range the turbo comes on. I would also have to do testing myself to see at what degree of exhaust retard does the EGT become a problem. My guess is that it's rather negligible unless you are doing some very extreme amount.

I'd be more concerned with trying to drive the car and see how it drives first rather than planning for nitrous on a 5-speed to get it to spool quicker. Nitrous is for auto's and very high horsepower big turbo setups on manual. Of course you can use it where ever you like but you'd be pee'ing in the wind a bit.

Honestly Im interested in the slammed in my seat feeling under boost. My tuner said that's about 400 at the wheels. We had a discussion about whether or not my turbo was acceptable for that. Although I have seen numerous builds getting people close to 400 it seems we are maxing the 20g setup out, however when you are at the top of the compressor range were concerned about a hot day 100 degress and hard pull. Since summer is when the fun happens. So I was concerned about a turbo that would reliably hit 400 awhp and left room to grow but was also reasonably streetable for an affordable price tag
