Hey guys I have searched for a definitive answer and checked the holset faq but can't find this answer or I'm overlooking it, so I need to ask both opinions on the setup and if it will even work.

So first and foremost I have a hx40 Bolt on housing but I have a hx35 turbo will this work I have seen the inducer is bigger in the 40 vs the 35 but will running this setup if possible create a more lag time to build boost? Would it be more efficient to just get a hx40 but what other problems does that create I also plan to pick up a set of 272 cams for this setup. Thanks for your help.

You can't put a 70/60mm turbine in a housing cut for a 76/64mm turbine. There will be a huge gap the entire radius of the wheel. A possible problem it would create is extreme lag, or the inability to build boost properly if at all.

i had a 8 blade hx35 in a hx40 housing and it wasnt kicking hard till 5k and above 15 psi on a 10.5:1 cr engine.
