HX35 help!

Ok, so I've been thinking, and a Holset HX35 turbo is on the wishlist for me. And the first question would have to be where would be the best place to buy one or a kit if there is one. Also, of specific parts to make the turbo fit like the exhaust manifold, intercooler and such. I'm going to start gathering up parts for now, starting with an inline wally 255, a manual boost controller, afpr kit, injectors, probably at least 750 or 800cc. an ACT 2600, was also thinking about getting a new shortblock and start building it and transfering the head from mine, then drop the motor in within a weekend or so. So all in all, the turbo will logically be almost the very last thing that I acquire. Anything else that comes to mind is much appreciated and anyone that has done this already helps with specifics.

well as usual i see lots of parts and money being thrown around.

heres my recipe to success.

Holset.. good choice. do your research on which one u want.

injectors... 720cc is about right for a 500whp car. you wont get much more out of them, but tuning will be easier than with HUGE injectors.

EMS - link is dogshit. dont care what anyone says. if you are going to chip tune, then chip tune. Link IS NOT REQUIRED! over priced boolshit.

Real EMS - Only two options here in my book. AEM or Megasquirt DIYPNP.

I know the ms option is not terribly popular amongst the followers around here. But it works well, is cheap and allows TOTAL control over spark and fuel tuning. its a good system, esp for the price.

FMIC - i say cxracing on this one. just_intercoolers has about the best price on ebay. China INTERCOOLERS ARE ALL THE SAME!!!!! why dont people get this? xspower? china! dont pay more for the same shit that has been branded.

you can get a big core with all the 16g tubing, silicone couplers and tbolt clamps for about 230 bucks shipped off fleabay. For a regular street car, this option just cant be beat.

And remember, there are supra guys making 1000+ hp at the wheels using cheap ass ebay intercoolers.


dont believe all the hype! you dont have to spend 25k on ## 3000$ car to make it go fast. Believe it.


oh yeah, i got some denso 720's layin around if you want em i switched to fic 1050 and almost immediately regretted it.

I wouldn't listen to one thing he just said for anyone that happens to fall onto this thread. Ecmlink is one of the best options for ANY car out there. People are swapping our ecus and harnesses into all types of cars because it is just not needed to need a EMS.. theres 1000hp cars running our stock ecus with dsmlink on them.

Yea, I'm definitely going to ship my ecu to get chipped rather than pay out the ass for a new one . Though I may get a new 1995 one so I can drive my car durin the shipping process
