so here's the story i just installed a dejon 2.75" intake pipe, dejon uicp, greddy type s bov and mbc today along with cleaning and straightening the fins on my smic. when i took it out for a test drive it ran fine for about a mile or two but after that it had a huge loss of power and idles very choppy. i have an a/f gauge (i know i should have a egt but this one was cheap) that reads pretty lean whenever i'm not on the gas and i have the boost set for 14 psi. so, i'm thinking that this is a fuel problem or maybe an ignition problem but i don't have a logger yet so i'm not for sure. i really didn't think i would need dsmlink until i upgraded the turbo, injectors, and fuel pump;and needed to tweak the a/f curves but maybe i should invest in that insead of a turbo back this next month. btw, i have completely stock fuel and ignition systems. when i was driving i had a little bit of boost peak (18ish psi) before it would far back down to the set 14 psi.

so my plan for tomorrow is to down an ignition coil test and just go ahead and rewire the stock fuel pump. maybe buy some new spark plug wires, my plugs are new so i know they are ok.

i'm kinda worried right now so any suggestions or personal experiences would sure calm me down.

thanks, darren

Definately do a boost leak test. With all those alterations to the intake system, there is a good chance that you may be leaking, which will cause a sudden loss of power that you didnt have before. Build the tester off of VFAQ or the tech articles here (unless you already have one) and test it out tomorrow. That would be my first step.

thats right i kinda overlooked the boost test. i did it awhile ago but your right there's a good chance that i could be leaking somewhere in the system with all this new pipe.

Not trying to insult or anything, just asking. You didn't mention doing this step, but did you reset the ECU? Correct me if I'm wrong, but that is a necessary step, right? That would cause air/fuel problems.

I agree with the boost leak test, sounds like a hose came off. I had the exact same problem when my Return hose from the BOV to the Intake came off. I was getting all the air my system was supposed to be receiving. The little vaccum lines on the intake are always big leak culprits.
