Soooo, lets see if a good discussion can be had on this topic.

im my looks for next years "turbo to use" i always end up at this. BWS258-ETT or FP's GT30RHTA

both all are good for 600hp-ish, however the engineer in me loves that Bullseye has the compressor data. so i know what PR will net me what flow. FP doesn't. not cool.

a 600hp(~60lb/min) turbo should net just over 500whp, say ~520-530whp. that's perfect. i want to keep it on the small side as the transient boost response and off-spool torque are my focus.

might any of you have any "real word" data to say ones better then the other? or might any one have links to any dyno charts of before and after tests of eaither of these turbos, or technologies?

hell, has any one done a good comparison between the two that i just cant find?

thanks for any, and all help / data guys.:pray:

I'm a bigger fan of journal bearing turbos because they can be rebuilt if anything goes wrong.

If you've never seen a BW ETT turbo with the compressor cover off, you'd be sold instantly based solely on the unique wheel design. The exducer tips have "fingers" that protrude almost 1/8" above the actual compressor exducer. You can actually see the effeciency of this design.

For real-world spool and power questions, PM dsmmatt28....he's made almost 500whp at 30psi with an ETT S259.

that boost level is what i need to avoid. just a touch over a 3.0PR.

by that pressure level, your pump-gas abilitys are just about gone.

however, thanks for the advice. I'll shoot him a PM.
