When I bought the car, the guy said it had a Cometic headgasket. Now, I see some of the HG sticking out from the head and there's a tab with a small "button" on it. Well, not button...it is a brass ring, kind of like a hole where you could put a string through it and hold it from the string. Anyways, what HG's have this?? I know the HG is MLS because this little tab is steel and so are the other parts that protrude from around the head.

In the pic below you can see the brass piece I am talking about...it is right below the cylinder.

I dont think the stock MLS gaskets use a ring like that if im not mistaken. Could be Cometic. Could be a off shoot brand mls gasket. Whats it matter?

It doesnt matter, per se, but ever since I got the car there was problem after problem. Now that I have things torn apart and its been sitting for about 3 months, I am going over it with a fine tooth comb...trying to see if they are bullshitting me about anything else on their rebuild. The top end looks fresh, no questions there really. Just bottom end and the HG was a question for me. But cool, I guess it is a Cometic....it's MLS for sure, guess thats what matters most.
