How to set engine timing(up-side-down-CAS)1GB/2GH.

i have read the threads seen videos that answers half this question. But now i need help on the other half.

i have a 98GSX 1G BLOCK 2G HEAD 93-94 CAS DSM LINK V3 FULL.

i understand TDC "Top Dead Center" 1 Cylinder. then Dowl pins at the 12:00
with the Exhaust CAM facing 3:00 and the Intake CAM facing 9:00 {tick marks}

BUT MY REAL CONCERN IS.(1) i have never done it. (2) and i don't know which belt i need because i have a swap? (3)..also i do not know what order to to start by . (4)were to get this special tension-er tool. "or what it is called" ..

MOST IMPORTANT!!!!!!! of course my timing is off, both cams face to the 9:00 .
But i have to completely turn my CAS 180 Degrees (upside Down) for the car to start. if i don't it wont start. so i cant BOLT the CAS to the head ..... Would this be the reason? (bad timing) for the cas to only work upside down ?

I have never used the tool for the tentioner. I have always done it the hard way. By removing it and slowly resetting it in a vise, and putting in a pin. You did not mention anything about setting your oil pump... That's something you need to be sure is correct as well if you haven't already.

I bought the DSM timing belt tool kit from JayRacing and I have definitely got my use out of it along with other dsm'ers using it. I have also just removed it and used the vice method also
 
12b humm diver ? i take it. im a 13B. .. hey guys so does it matter wich year belt i get ? remember my swap.. and, spyder boost. thanks bro. that is what i was looking for, just one last Q. how do i do it manualy if i dont have the special tool. ?(tensioner arm) AND> would that explain my CAS working upside down?
 
hummer driver?!!? more like Sapper/Combat Engineer, only clowns I've seen driving around in humvees are the ANA and sometimes the Polish,
The belt should be the same for a 6/7 bolt, IIRC though there might be differences in one of the pulleys on the belt, I think I was send a 1g pulley but I can't confirm the part numbers I'm no where close to them. For your CAS working upside down, make sure your dowel pins are to the 12 the cas is correct. It might be something easy like swapping the firing order of the wires. I think I'm understanding all of that correctly
