Leamington,
hey guys

i was reading the how to increase horspower free mods in the tech guide there
and i was just wondering if one of you guys could explain me how this is done
in better words and with pictures...i have no idea where the Emissions vacuum lines
are..and they say block off the throttle body ports with little vacuum caps ?? i dont get it LOL ..anyways your help would be great thx:coy:

Look at or look up the Tabbo Speed Shop routing diagram in the tech articles. Il see if I can find it.

Block off the EGR valve on the left side of the throttle body after ward. And the you can throw the charcoa canister under the battery holder away. :)

nice...but what i would really need is a picture of that on a real motor...
see im a newbie and im just getting into this stuff ..and im the kind of guy that needs
real pictures of where it is under the hood...if any of you have a picture that you could just circle it that would be great...thx
that and the throttle body LOL..yeah i know..im a newb

Ok, this is a picture i got from the gallery, (chrissonegbeast i believe, hope you dont mind) that I added some info for you. Its not the best picture for this but you can see in red where he has already block off all the lines that were going to the throttle body. You should be able to follow the lines that are currently connected to the throttle body to the other parts you can get rid of or block off. After I did it I remember this site, which will probably help you out a lot since your a visual person.

Sorry to pull the old thread...
but i do need help...
i don really understand the diagram
Step 1: Remove Emissions Vacuum Lines
The four small rubber hoses that go from your throttle body into the engine bay have no purpose other than to active the emissions equipment. Remove all of them. They go down to the thermostat housing and then back behind the engine, and then BLOCK OFF the throttle body ports with little vacuum caps, RTV, and zip ties. This will make your car illegal in the eyes of the emissions test facilities. If you're not worried about passing emissions tests, then proceed with this step and the next.
(An Example)

the example link is not work...

What don't you understand about it? Pull off ALL the vacuum lines. Use NEW hoses to replace the ones that go to the fuel pressure regulator, boost gauge, blow off valve, and wastegate. Hook the other end of those lines up to the intake manifold. Then cap off what is left open like the ones on the top of throttle body.

Edit: Don't be sorry for bringing back an old thread. It is better then opening a new thread about the same thing.

so i just unplug all those line on the throttle body? and cap it off? also what new hoses should I use?
where is fuel pressure regulator, boost gauge and blow off valve and also wastegate?

is that I can follow those from the TB and to all those components? should I just plug it up?

can you be more detail about the vacuum lines? because i am really really new to cars... actually never work on them but i am about to start doing so.

Correct. Advance or autozone sells caps that are specifically made for doing that.

I will try to find pictures for you. It is a lot easier than it looks.

and what do i do with the line?
do i found out where is the other end and block them off too?

You got it. I don't remember exactly where the lines go but I do know one goes to one of the selenoids on the firewall, then another line comes off that selenoid and goes to the fuel pressure regulator. Just remember to hook a new line up to the fpr, bov, wastegate, and boost gauge like I said before.

I did the TB block off but the Black canister has lines that go directly to the Turbo intake tube. Do I just plug it and then remove the black box

do i have to hook new line up?
is that the 4 line that I unplug?
i think i am stupid or something...
seems i have a lot more to learn...

Here's how to remove your emissions stuff:

1.Remove all vacuum lines except the following ones:

As far as I can remember, the only vacuum lines I have on are as follows:
-bov to intake manifold
-mbc to wastegate
-mbc to nipple on j pipe
-valve cover breather to catch can to intake pipe
-PCV valve to check valve to catch can to intake manifold
-AFPR to intake manifold
-brake booster to intake manifold

Block off all the throttle body ports as you saw in the thread linked to in post 11. You can find those caps at your local auto store. Put a zip tie around each to make sure you don't have a boost leak. You don't need to cap off the ports at the other end of the vacuum lines that you pulled off of the throttle body. You can then remove the charcoal canister and the rest of the vacuum lines associated with it. You will have to leave the one that goes to the gas tank - just don't plug it. Leave it hanging and vented. You can remove your EGR valve if you wish and install and EGR block off plate. Follow the Taboo diagram and you'll be fine. But DON'T tee into the bov vacuum line for your MBC if you have one. Get your boost source elsewhere (compressor housing, j pipe, lower intercooler pipe, etc.).

Wouldn't you still need to leave the EGR lines plugged in if you leave the valve on? I just removed everything else, then reconnected a couple lines just for the EGR stuff. Will it stay closed without the vacuum lines?

That I'm not sure about because I removed my EGR valve before I did my emissions delete. You can always try it with them connected and them pull them and see what, if anything, happens.
