How to lower boost with an internal WG?

So im trying to turbo a Toyota Matrix with a 16g but i want to run very low boost, 5-8 psi. Are there internal WG's that can do this? Can i take a stock WG apart and put in a smaller spring? Could i put a spring on the opposing end of the WG to help pull it open easier?

They sell wastegate for the 16g. Seen a ton on ebay, 7psi, 11psi, 16psi, 22psi

You can also cut the wastegate open, change the spring and seal it.

There is a tech article I think that talks about changing the 1g bov with a new spring, you might be able to use the same concept. Use a vband clamp to seal the wastegate again after you cut it open

What you can do is take the spring out, install a MBC most likely the hallman rx with the ceramic ball for low boost control applications. Then you can run any level 1-30psi. (actually nvm, you need tension to keep the flapper closed. maybe use the softest tial spring)

What about a 7psi WG with a spring pulling it open, but not big enough to actually open it till pressure comes on. Would that help?

if you get a 7 psi wastegate then you do not need another spring, the spring itself is for 7 psi and will hold the flapper closed.

edit: I apologize, I gave you false information. I just checked on ebay for the actuators. here are the results

They have 11, 14, 22 psi. looks like you might have to open the wastegate. Depending on your budget you can get an aftermarket wastegate. they range from any psi.
