I recently installed a 16g and as every body else's its creeping I have been looking at different options about going external i was thinking new turbo mani with and external wg flange but the only ones iv been able to find are flanged for T3 however i did also find an adapter plate for T3/16g flange i was wondering if i went with this setup seeing how the adapter does take up space it would essentially lower my turbo any one know if i would run into problems with my downpipe mating up flat or my o2 housing .........also the second route iv been looking at that looks easiest n most practice is an o2 housing with WG flange i found some with a small section of flex pipe right after the wg and some with out and found some that dump and some that recirculate? whats the difference? and any advantages or disadvantages 2 dumping........... im from WI and emissions aren't a problem.....
 
The spacer will sacrafice efficiency. I ran my e16g on an SBR cast manifold with a 38mm external wastegate. It cracked within a few thousand miles with the JMF heat shield on it, but never leaked.

Another option is to put an external gate off of the o2 housing and just clear out the internal gate parts. Take a look at your budget and see what sticks.
 
If you put a waste gate off the O2 housing, you may still have creep problems. The reason the 16G creeps is because the waste gate passage is too small, so you'd have to port out the passage if you're running the WG off the O2 housing. If you go off the exhaust mani., you could just have a flange put on your stock manifold, or go with a HAFE cast stainless steel manifold, which is like the SBR mani,, but will not crack. I'd advise against any tubular manifolds because of cracking issues.
