Would an internal wastegate vented to the atmosphere flow as much as an external wastegate? I am going to buy a 50 trim, and i will be pushing from 20 to 25 psi.

Venting the gate will just help with spool up a little. If your running a 50 trim with 20-25psi then i would deffinately recommend an external wastgate...a 40mm..In an answere to your question...no, an internal will not flow as much as an external

An External will generally help with spool-up as it can open at the last possible second where Internals kinda creep open.

Also Venting to the atmosphere will help on the top end.

I Run 26psi on my Interanlly gated 50 trim and it works fine.

would there be any gain in removing the divider with the 50trim being internally gated?

It helps with boost creep, but it hurts turbine flow and efficiency. With the wastegate and turbine passages merging together like that it increases backpressure significantly. Excessive backpressure negatively affects spool and overall turbine performance, but helps with boost creep.

becuase i say alot of creep on 50 trim turbos with internal gates. When we went to the external it got rid or most all boost creep. If you dont have the money to setup the external wastegate, go with internal. It works fine if you can deal with some creeping.

external wasgate and an external dump. Like they said really helps with boost creep. Some people dont like the dump but I love to hear it open up because that means who ever your racing:tease: bye bye. also it sounds good when it gets opened next to you. thats just my two sense
