Morimoto RGB Halo and Demon Eye Install

Tools Needed:
1. Screwdriver (Phillips and Flathead)
2. ¼” Ratchet with socket
3. Wire pliers
4. Zip ties
5. Picture hanging wire, or high E guitar string, or fishing line. (Just one of these).
6. Oven
7. Headlight sealer (available from TRS).
8. 1mm and 5mm drill bit

First Step:
Remove headlights from car using ¼ ratchet and socket.

Second Step:
Remove bulbs and wiring harness from headlights.

Third Step:
Remove any screws in the back of the headlight.

Fourth Step:
Cover oven rack with aluminum foil and preheat oven to about 225 degrees.

Fifth Step:
Once oven is preheated, place one headlight at a time in the oven for about 8 minutes.

Sixth Step:
Place a piece of cardboard down where you are going to be working on the headlight.

Seventh Step:
Remove headlight from oven with oven mitts and place onto the piece of cardboard.

Eight Step:
Pull on the headlight lens to see if it will release from the housing, if it will not then take the flathead screwdriver and lightly pry around the headlight to try and break the seal in order to remove the lens. If you are not having any luck getting the lens to remove then place the headlight back into the oven for another 5-8 minutes and repeat as needed.

Ninth Step:
Once you have the headlight lens off, then remove the projector by unscrewing the retaining nut on the back of the headlight. It should unscrew by hand or use a 22mm socket (for Mini H1’s at least).

Tenth Step:
Once you have the projector removed then remove the shroud around the projector by removing the 4 Philips screws holding it to the projector.

Eleventh Step:
Now place your new Morimoto halo on the front of the projector shroud to see how you want it to sit. Then drill holes where needed with the 1mm drill bit to run the picture hanging wire through. Next drill a hole with the 5mm drill bit to run the halo wires through.

Twelfth Step:
Now that you have the holes drilled place the halo on the front of the projector shroud and run the picture hanging wire through and twist it around with the wire pliers to tighten it down.

Thirteenth Step:
Now we will begin the process for mounting the demon eye. The demon eye mounts to the top of the projector (if you have Mini H1’s buy the bracket to mount the demon eye from TRS, it’s only like 5 bucks).

Fourteenth Step:
Now you are ready to install the shroud back onto the projector and reassemble the headlight. Route the wires from the Halos and the Demon Eyes so that they come out in the back of the headlight.

Fifteenth Step:
Once the headlight is reassembled, you will need to reseal the lens onto the headlight using the oven again. Put headlight sealant on any spots needed on the headlight. Clean the inside of the lens with a microfiber cloth and clean the projector glass as well. Preheat oven to 225 and place headlight in the oven with the lens on it for about 8 minutes, and then take the headlight out of the oven and press the lens onto the headlight. Make sure to line up any plastic tabs that hold the lens on. If you cannot get the lens to fully seat back onto the headlight housing, put it back in the oven for a few more minutes and then try again.
