I am bout to take off my side mount IC on my 95 Talon TSI FWD. After I get it off, what sthe proper way to clean it?

get a set of latex gloves and a few gallons of kerosene. cap the bottom off and fill it up most of the way with kerosene and shake th episs out of it, dump it out, rinse with water and repeate the kerosene steps until it comes out clean. it took me about 3 times but i had about a quart of oil in mine from the turbo being smoked when i bought it.

I used rubbing alchohol. I didn't want to use kerosene because of its high flammability and that I have a lot of droplights around. Alcohol does have a strong odor to it though but is cheaper than kerosene, I think.

you think rubbing alcohol is less flammable than kerosene? kerosene burns slow and is a natural lubricant, it wont ignite or combust like gas or alcohol. its also cheaper because you would have to buy and obscene amount of alcohol bottles. you could use it, but it wouldnt be the best idea.

^ If what you were trying to type was "[this]might sound funny, but what is a good way to cap off the holes?" Then my answer would be:

One of your latex glove shod palms for each 'hole' should do the trick. Just hold it and shake it.

yup

One thing you should do is goto www.vfaq.com and look at the dsm, intake section. You'll find out exactly how to clean this, and do just about anything else you've ever wanted to.
