Alright I heard you can buy some spraypaintish stuff....you guys who have your taillights blacked out, how did you do it?

thanks

This question has been asked quite a few times.

VHT Nightshades is what you're looking for.

Dunno where you can get the stuff though..I can't remember ever seeing it at Kragen or Autozone or the like..maybe because I wasn't looking for it though. Try Pepboys, they usually have more stuff than their competition.

I used one can of nightshades on my tails. You can see a picture of them in my gallery. You'll need to clean your tails really good. Then spray light coats over them. This stuff is hard to clean if it runs it is very sticky. You'll probably only need 2 coats or so. Then I put a couple coats of clear on mine. I only used 2 coats of nightshades and a couple coats of clear.

i got mine at ramchargers looks nice but make sure you cover the lights evenly or they'll look funnyLOL but its pretty easy good kuck:thumb:

Even though it's been answered moved to the correct forum.

Truthfully, that's the 1st time I've seen a 2g Talon with it... I like it.
Here's my 1gb talon, was like it when I bought it, but yeah, clean them up REAL good and get two cans of the nite shades, and some clear. Just make sure you don't get the runs!

Oh yeah, and do the Search... there's a good many threads about this.

I actually did have a cop stop me and tell me to take off my taillight covers. I then proceeded to tell him I didn't have covers and those were the actual lenses. He looked at me weird then let me go on my way.

My brother used VHT nightshades on his '88 Merkur Xr4ti. It's helpful to remove the headlights from the car or buy spares and paint them out of the car. Do make sure you clean them really well first (like painting anything!) and stand quite far away, and preferably not above. Little globs of paint tend to fall out of the can from time to time and can really ruin how even your coats are if your going for a barely smoked look.

I used NightShades on mine then put tail light covers on, And for anyone that says "I dont like it", well I do and thats all that mattersROFL .

Nope, I'm a 1gB 92-94

one more way to do it is to mix up some clear coat and black pait. im not sure how much of each. then spary it on the tail lights

just a comment... I just applied nite shades over chrome altezzas and the night shades have a slightly purple tint. I was going for all black, but when they left that purple hue I was a little disappointed. It's subtle though so if you are spraying over black or red housing you won't see it

It darkens as you apply several layers. If you only apply one or two coats, it will be a bluish-purple color. But if you apply 6+ coats, the finish will turn dark black like the pictures posted above.

I used Niteshades on my car. It didn't turn out very well. Maybe I didn't clean the lights enough, but for whatever reason it looked REEAL bad. So, I just let it dry, got my can of Krylon Fusion, and used that. Turned out waaaay better. Mind you, i just used it on reflectors, not actual lights, so I didn't have to worry about light getting through.
