I just rebuilt one of my rear calipers because it was seizing up on me and now I'm in the end here popping the pads back in and noticed how difficult one of them is to get back in, even after replacing the anti-rattle clips, so started sanding down the seat on the caliper where the anti-rattle clips sit which was pretty dirty/corroded which loosened it up a bit but I want to be careful I don't over do it so I just wanted to check with you guys who've done brakes enough before how much play should the pads have? I'm guessing just enough to move but not so much they're loose at all. thanks.

I cant say play i just move the wheel and make sure nothing is binding, i just guess on how tight until i feel enought tightness, never a problem when ive done this just by feel.

your pads should slide in and out easily otherwise they'll get stuck in the slides and wear out fast make sure your lube them up well

okay, so easily but I should feel some pressure on them from the spring of the one anti-rattle clip right? well, I guess regardless of how tight/loose they are that spring on that one clip should give it some inward tension no? thanks guys
