ok well im going crazy on deciding what clutch to go with/ it's between the act 2100 sprung 6-puck, or spec stage 2. im stearing away from the everyday act2600 with street disc only because my friend has this setup and i really dont like the pedal pressure( call me a wuss...LOL) so my question is just as the title states, is the sprung 6-puck streetable? thanks again.

Edit* im at 300 wheel right now, and looking to be at 360 wheel after the clutch install, to give you an idea.

if you have that power, your going to have to sacrifice some of the drivability of the car, and how smooth it is. i drive with a sprung 6 puck everyday and im used to it now. at the beginning it was different but your going to forget about it.

I had a sprung 6 puck for about 20k. You get used to it, but its different in the beginning. You have to bring the revs up a bit more to take off, and I rev matched to downshift too. If I didnt, the car would jerk when it bit. It was nice, but it's hell on the drivetrain. I went to a full face disk after it broke.

I drive a unsprung 6-puck on the street.... it is fine once you are used to it. However, I do think I walk in circles now when I try to walk straightROFL

Define streetable?LOL

I've had my 6-puck, sprung hub disc for awhile now. Personally, I think it's very streetable; it's just depends on what your willing to live with.

Look into this setup:

ACT Streetlite Flywheel
ACT 2600 Pressure Plate
South Bend Kevlar Street Disc
OEM Mitsu Throw Out Bearing
S/S Clutch Line
Proper adjustment / Bleeding Of Hyd. System

You'll like it. You can PM twicks on here for another opinion.

ive seen people complain about just having a 2600 with street disc saying its too hard to drive.

and then people complaining with lighten flywheels.

seriously, everybody's opinion will be different. if you can, try and drive someone's car you know who has the setup.

everyone's opinion on this topic IS biased, no way around that unless they can really provide detailed comparisons from one setup to the next, but as you can see, its mostly "its fine, its drivable"

I have the fidanza 4.3 Ceramic 6-puck and fidanza aluminum flywheel (had the alum flywheel when I bought the car) and have no complaints. When I let the clutch out and took off out of the shop for the first time, I actually noticed no difference from my street disc, except that the pressure plate is a LOT easier on my leg than whatever the ACT was that was in my car before.

sounds like an awesome setup... and it's probably exactly what I'll be running

You can skip the lightweight flywheel to make it more streetable

ive been seeing this particular setup on alot of diffrent threads here, im still stearing
away from that 2600 only due to the peddle pressure is a little to stiff for my liking, and the that this pp is a little overkill for a 16g turbo.

how many of you guys had a drivetrain part break on you with a 6-puck installed?

I have an ACT 2100 with a 6 puck sprung hub disc and ACT's flywheel and it is very street able. I also took out the accumulator and replaced it with a SS clutch line so it grabs a little harder. I've had mine for 2 years, don't have any broken drive train parts. It all depends on how you drive too. If you keep launching on a hot puck disc instead of letting things cool, don't expect your flywheel to last.

I don't know where Weston is, but PM me if you'd like to drive a few hours and come test drive drive my car. I'll be in Orlando next weekend, but I haven't decided if I'm taking my car or a hybrid rental.

Thanks bro, weston is actually about 5 miles from Miami ( yea i know, im waaay down here) Im kinda pulling my hair out on this clutch decision thing. ive been looking through some tech articles from jacks transmissions and tre transmissions and their recommending to stay clear from puck disc if its a daily driver.Clutch Pedal Adjustment - Team Rip Engineering and heres one from jacksDSM Clutch Selection but if you guys are saying that there's been no issues....

also, anybody that has tried the act 2600/street disc and the act2100/sprung 6-puck and if so which one did you guys like better?

if you want a awsome clutch with alot of clamp force and a lighter pedal feel try South Bend there clutches just keep amazing me day after day :thumb:
