I've read the build sections but you see them on ebay all the time what am i looking for?? How do i tell if it is a good one or not?

if it's i ball and spring type it should work ok. I understand not wanting to spend money but with something like a mbc I would just shell out the extra cost for some thing thats tried and true. spending $50-$75 on a mbc is alot better than replaceing the head gasket or worse when the cheepo craps out.

No. Make your own for $10 out of a G-valve. It works so well, you won't notice the difference, and even if you do the $40-80 you'll have saved will make your car faster than someone who got an expensive version. Don't get me wrong, the $100 ones are cool and quality built, but not needed for the majority of builds.

I honestly cant remember what i paid for my turboxs controler but it's been on there for years and i have never had a problem. Im sure you could build one and it would work just fine as so many people have done it and I've yet to hear anything bad about the home made ones. but for me, I just figure buy something that is proven and be done with it. I know to some that 50 bucks is a lot of money but sometimes piece of mind is worth the extra green..

I have a TurboXs Manual Boost Controller works real well. I'd suggest staying away from the real cheap stuff on ebay and try your luck in the classified ads on this site, dsmsource.com, or if you must use ebay look for used name brand items.

Just my opinion.

you can get a pretty good bc for about 65-70 bucks. but i can usually tell if somethings good if ive heard the name and good things about it. if ive never heard of it i buy it

Built mine brass fittings for about 10 bucks. Worked fantastic for years... decided to go for a profec-b when I found one dirt cheap.

Also, has a turbo XS manual.. that worked great too. Tried a bleed-valve design, never had good luck with that.

Eh, he must not need help that often. LOL:thumb:

Let's just assume he only posts when he feels like it. Some people post several times a day and never ask for help.

I like the hallman mbc's, pretty cheap on ebay too and work great. For something so little (well under $100) I couldn't see any reason to be cheap over it. I would much rather have a quality name brand mbc then make my own, and I have used both already, but they both function the same.

I too have used different types even the Ebay ones, but now I spend the extra 40$ or whatever for a brand name, gives me a piece of mind.:hellyeah:

Search NXS boost controller and tell them u want the DSM TUNERS discount. 15 bucks shipped to your door and it works great. They sell em on ebay also, and there should be a website....umm there is also a HUGE thread on here somewhere........

i found mine in someones yard. ROFL it's held up great but looks like it was run over a couple times. so i say free is as cheap as you can go!
