how much for 1gen awd tranny

Hey guys i bought 91 awd eclipse a couple months ago and it was messed up but i didn't care. I wanted it. The kid before had said the clutch was brand new. But it aftermarket stock. Needless to say it broke soon after i started to drive it. I put a new one act 2100 with oem bearing in. Only to find the bell housing is crack kinda really bad they tried to get it weld but it's still not right i think. Anyway i want to know about how much should i be paying for a brand new stock, used, or built up a lil bit tranny. Can i up the tranny a lil bit without doing anything to the engine? i have a lil bit a money put aside for something just like this so i am not worried to buy brand new. Also where are you guys shopping for trannys?

You can get a used transmission (sometimes with a transfer case) for anywhere from $200-$500 depending on the market/availability in your area. Rebuilds start around $1,000 and upward. If you are looking for something nicer contact the common transmission guys.

I got a TRE... I like it alot. I havent been able to give it a good whirl because of the winters but it seems very solid. I paid 1142 stage 2 but im a local and there was no hassle with shipping and other stuff
