How much boost should I run?

My talon is running extremely rich and the reason is because the computer that is in it is actually for a N/T 2.0 talon. There are no boost leaks. I have already ordered a computer and new injectors, but I still need to drive the car. My last calculated MPG is 12.89 :( I do not have a logger. Everything on the car is stock except for a MBC, boost gauge and a K&N filter. I am currently running 10 pounds of boost. Should I lower it or raise it or leave it the the same?

That will cause a no boost condition and even worse gas mileage. The BEST thing to do it park your car before you have any more problems. The N/T timing map isn't even remotely setup for a turbo car. Keep everything hooked up and stay out of boost.

sorry for bringing this back from the dead, but I just got a new computer and injectors for the car. The computer came out of a 92 eclipse AWD Turbo M/T. I have a 93 Talon AWD A/T. The computer works just fine. When I replaced the computer, I also put 450 injectors in it to make sure that there would be no problems. How much boost should I run now? I still have the really small 13g that comes stock on automatics. I have it set for 8 pounds right now but the car feels sluggish and there are no boost leaks. I would like to go up, but I am not sure how much I can. I have no data logger either. I will be getting one next paycheck.

Turn it up til it blows up, then back it off a psi or two.

That's what I do. LOL It's one method. Good point. Experience is not the best teacher. GET A LOGGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(please)

You can get an LM-1 and it's gigity-gadgits to log for a price that I think is fair considering having the wideband output. . . You can get Tunerstein. The best deal. You can get a scanmaster which will let you log w/out a laptop, though having it would be nice so that you can record your runs and upload them for us to see. You can get dsmlink which is the best logger hands down and, BTW, comes w/ a fully reprogramable chip for a stock ecu.

You have a 1g. You can even watch your knock count w/ the cheap loggers!!! (unlike 2g guys). A logger is so beneficial. That and a boost leak tester:thumb: .

Hey, you guys DEFINATELY have the better looking chick, but ours is nicer on the inside :tease: :| (just messing)

A side note about how much boost you can run after you know what's going on. The 13g probably will be tapped out at 13-14 psi w/ good exhaust. So don't expect too much from this turbo. It is very quick spooling:thumb: , but a hair above a t25. You'll have fun for while and 450s should be enough for this turbo. A logger will show % injector duty cycle.

I thought I posted earlier how I changed the ECU to a AWD Talon TSI m/t. That fixed my running rich part. I put the boost at 11 pounds and am going to leave it at that. At WOT, i hear no gas knocks and I am getting a hell of alot better gas mileage. I will for sure be getting a logger on my next pay check. Now i am having transmission problems.....posted another thread on this a minute ago.
