I am just wondering how many horses you 420A 2g eclipse/talon people are pushing with mods.
I can't find a GSX or GST in my area so I am considering going RS or GS . :(

See I dont know why but I would take a Turbo charged Gs over a GST any day. Now if it came to the Gs with Turbo over a GSX well I would take the GSX in a heart beat. Cant beat AWD but who says someone cant make a 450Hp AWD GS with turbo that would kick ass

i agree. i would rather have a fast 420a then a GS-T of the same power. i would be prouder of having a fast "slow" car then a fast car that comes fast stock. now, if it were my gs or a GSX, well then i would take the GSX in a heartbeat.

dont get a GS or RS if you dont wanna spend a lot of money putting a turbo kit in, there arent nearly as many parts for a n/t vs a turbo. As for AWD, your gonna have to decide that for urself, just keep in mind gas mileage and drivetrain lost, and those sweet launches :thumb:
My parents pay 250 a month for my GS-T, u can get discounts for taking drivers ed and being a good student (how they know this i dont have a clue, because im apparantly a "good student" :p )
Putting a turbo kit on a GS/RS isnt reliable from what i hear(then again what DSM is reliable?) because the parts werent made for a turbo, like compression ratios and such (i dont know what im talkin about but it sounds cool?)
Anywho, let us know what u decide, i had a 2000 Eclipse GT v6 before i got my 98 GS-T, and i sold it as soon as i learned about cars :p
And as far as those GSX/GS-T prices, 13k and 16k etc, i bought my 98 GS-T for 6100 with 100k miles, freshly rebuilt engine.(although it wasnt as clean as it seemed, it was in a minor wreck, but it was all fixed up cosmetically, and we had to dump about 1grand total for repairs, so about 7100 for a 100k rebuilt engine GS-T) Ebay rules, the 2000 eclipse GT cost us 8300, and when we sold it, it sold for 10500 :D
Sorry for the long post, i guess i got carried away OMG

theres actually a fairly large aftermarket for our cars, i havnt looked much at yours, but i know its not as big as your, but the aftermarket is there.

about it not being reliable, im sure its just as reliable as a GS-T. these cars just suck at reliability period

im selling my rs eclipse becuase i took a loan and bought a talon tsi awd...but hey..if you want an already fixed up non turbo i got one man..selling it at reasonable price!

Just get a GS they are cheaper you can throw a Turbo kit in it, Some Juice maybe a LSD and a couple of other supporting mods and still not pay as much as you would with a GSX or GST in the end..Insurence=Alot Plus you would already have more power then a GST or GSX..Dont get me wrong I love them all but for my Everyday Driver I have a GS I only pay 120 a month for full coverage.....They wanted 350 amonth for my GST I was like #### that

Even with my bad record, and being 19 at the time I still got MY OWN ,not my parents, insurence at 180 a month. When I re-reply this upcoming spring i will have my record clean and will ba about 22 so I am going to expect about 120-150. The reason it was so high is cause insurence agents have a catagory on the claim and for our car has two: one being turbocharged, and two being under the high performance category. And being a two door must not help.

Please dont say our cars are unreliable, the ones that are are driven non stop fast, revved the hell out of and not taken care of properly. Any car that can take double the stock horsepower on stock internals at 50k or 100k miles is a strong car to me. I am boosting more then stock, and am pushing a good deal of power over stock, I am by no means easy on the throttle and the car does see track time. But my car is VERY strong and well maintained, If I had the oppourtunity I would drive it around the world 80 times just to prove its reliability.

do yourself a favor and go AWD. don't become yet another person who gets FWD and realizes they've made a mistake **cough cough me** and has to sell it to buy another car. and by the way i got my 97 gsx with 75k miles for $8500.
