how little boost can a t25 run

My friend is boostin his 87 civic si and he cant run more than 5 psi. My question is how much boost will a t 25 run if you take a vacume line from the wastegate to the compressor housing.

Why is he limited to 5psi? Is it the junk honda motor? I think the stock actuator on the t-25 is like 10psi. With out going to a external gate getting the boost that low might be a problem. Unless one of the almighty wisemen know a trick that I dont know.( and they do ) At least he wasting a usless turbo on a honda) (j/K)

It depends largely on backpressure. A completely stock DSM with a T25, the lowest will probably be around 10. When I had a catback, the lowest I could run by hooking the comp housing feed directly to the wastegate was 12.5, and when I removed the cat, the lowest possible was 14-14.5...

wierd because my friends car that the t25 came off of only boosted like 7 lbs. Now he has a 14b and it will only do 7 lbs. But this is do to a boost leak, it is kind of wierd that the gst doesn't get the fuel cut feeling when he spools.

Also does a 14b have a ten lbs waste gate because my girlfriends completly stock 94 tsi awd runs ten lbs with the stock boost controller solenoid.

1G are usually set at 8-10psi, it's been discussed many times before.
