On my 92 GS my temp gauge reads between the M and the P. Is that to hot or about right.

The stock gauge is very in accurate. If you want to know your actual temps you'll need a logger or an aftermarket gauge. Then we'll be able to help you more.

as long as the car is pretty much stock the stock temp gauge will work just fine for you. if yoiu are thinking of doing soemthing to your car that would rise the engine temps then yeah i would probably get a aftermarket gauge. BTW your gauge reading is a normal temp.

Yea I dont use the stock gauge except to pretty much tell you that you have fluid. I blew a hose and my logger was reading 230* but the stock gauge didnt budge. After it started getting real hot and all fluid was pretty much gone the stock gauge made it to about the middle. so its not real accurate.

Good information Jayrolla, A nice comparison from the factory gauge to the logger temps when overheating.

Duke901 I did a search and found that the stock gauge is fairly unaccurate like mentioned above. The search took me about five minutes using the keywords stock, temp, and gauge in titles only. If I searched longer I could probably find more information on this. Just asking for the answer to a question because it is a simple yes/no answer isn't always the best idea, upon searching I found what many others cooling temps were and what mods they were using to keep the temps down. I can now use this added information in the future when diagnosing any problems/questions I may encounter relating to these issues. I'm not trying to pick on you I am just saying that searching is the way to go for any question, the more information the better. I believe searching will make you wiser faster rather than just asking one question and getting only the answer to that specific question.

On the subject of your question. Did you check the cooling system before asking? How did the antifreeze look? If you thought the temps were high what did you do to examine them? This information will also help us out in the future. If I were you and had all this new information I would investigate cooling temps with a thermometer and compare them to others with similar mods that effect cooling (like a front mount). Since the gauge is deemed innacurate and was on the high side, isn't there still a chance for overheating? Knowledge is power, and you still may have a problem, I would investigate.
