hey guys
I was wondering how the front bumper of your body kit is secured?
I was looking at mine, its a street fighter front. It really doesnt have all that support.
There are about 6 bolts holding that bumper up but all of them are on the very top. There is no support from the buttom. I would assume that If I was to ever hit a curve or something the thing would fall apart since its fiberglass.

Do you guys have some kind of extra support from the bottom thats keeping the bumper stable.

If so could you please post some pictures
thanks.

my front bumper is just secured on the top and on the splash guard. its secured it dont move

mine is supported across the top only, i took out the splash guards, or maybe i forgot to put back in... either way, it seems solid to me. BTW, it's fiberglass too.

I use the OEM bumper cover, but I fashioned an undertray that goes from the radiator support to the bumper cover. Works great! Just a few TEK head screws and some sheet metal, and you're good to go.

zipties?!
how would that work

I am thinking of attaching some metal support from the radiator to the bumper
I know that my bumper is solid where it sits but i know if i hit something even small
the bumper will come off completely, not just break and also im not too happy with one side of my bumper screws, they dont seem too solid so thats why i want some extra support. I guess i will work with some metal from the radiator to the bumper, should make it a bit more solid
thanks for the replies

I fabricated sheetmetal mounts then rivoted and fiberglassed them to the bumper, this allowed me to bolt up to the factory mounting locations.

Street Fighter here too. I only have the ones in the fender wells and the ones between the headlights too.

3 years with no problems

really?
i guess you never hit a curve or anything
I will try to make it solid somehow though, its only been a few weeks since i got the body kit and everytime i hear some weird noise from the front , next time i stop the car i go upfront and look at the bumper, havent had any problems but still just to relax myself down :thumb:

also , i got the mesh grill from ebay, mannnnnnn all of them on ebay were 36 inchs by 6 inchs. they dont cover up the entire bumper opening. later when i was at homedepot , the EXACT SAME THING , EXACT SAME SIZE was available for a $1 at homedepot. they didnt have larger sizes . I would hate to combine them and put em on. But the picture above gave me a good idea what I should do after taking the bumper off
thanks for the picture.

You'd be surprised. I hit a deer 2 years ago at 45 mph. Crushed the hood and put a 1" crack under my headlight. Nothing else.

You can buy that same mesh at Home Depot in a 4ft x 8 ft sheet too. $6 or something.

heh I used Zip ties on mine too...two under the hood, and one on each side..works fine..I did it because I was tired of the nut and bolt removal..and I only plan on having it on temperarily.

All the stock mounting under the hood, and 2 bolts wth nuts on the underside of the fender. Factory mounts. I also use my intercooler to hold alot of te weight of my heavy ass bumper.

I would never be able to do the zip ties. I am way too low. I scrape on a couple manhole covers here. I would break them sumbishes everyday.
