I got 2 new slim fans and wired them but they won't turn on. I hae dsmlink and hae it set so it turns both fans all the time. Figured this would fix the problem but it didn't. Here is how I wired them. I wired them through the passenger fan wiring harness and I connected the blue and white/blue with the 2 blue wires on the slim fan lines and the black and white/black wiress with the 2 black wires on the slim fan lines.

I am having the same issue with my slim fans on my 95 TSi. It turns on if I wire it direct to the battery. But no matter how I wire it to the factory wiring, it won't turn on. I have read EVERY thread about fan wiring but can't figure it out.

If you wired them both off the same connector, this isn't the proper way to wire them. More then likely you blew the fuse as the start up current of having two fans on one circuit is probably more then the factory circuit (ie fuse) was rated/designed for.

Hook one fan up to the drivers side connector & one to the pass side. Factory fans are two speeds, aftermarket fans are only one speed so most just tie the factory +'ve together & then the same for -tve on each connector. See connections here:

I go tthe fans to work the problem now is that they are pulling the air from the engine compartment and forcing it into the radiator. To make them puller fans do I just switch the fan wires around?

I ended up just switching the wires and they became pullers. One of them just needed the wires switched though the other seemed to run right.

Just an update to I figured out what was going wrong when wiring the fans. When wired to the passenger side fan it kept blowing the fuse in the engine compartment. When wired to the fan on the drivers side everything worked fine. Don't know why that is but if your having troubles you should try hooking them up through that side.

Well that worked for a day now I don't have either fan working. The fuse isn't blown either and the solders are still there. Why would the fans not be working now? I hooked the large fan directly up to the battery and it worked the small one I couldn't really get a good connection or else it just doesn't work. Any ideas?
