How To Check Radiator Fans

heres the problem, i was idling my car earlier today (started it up to warm it) and the coolant fans didnt regulate the temperature, luckily i got out there in time, my coolant had all boiled off......i know its the fans because they dont kick on, ... i have my AC snapped off a while back and i never replaced it that and i didt have any gas in the lines to make the ac work...so when i push the AC button down it usually kicks on both fans and adds to cooling the car.. needless to say they didnt kick on where do i check for problems with this ?
replaced the rad fan relay nothing
is there a fuse in the kick pannel
or in the engine compartment
any sugestions will be greatly appreciated

In reading some of these forums, it sounds like your problem could be in the wiring from the ecu to the relay

I am having a similar problem with overheating. it sounds to me the way to check is to: start your car and turn on the a/c, if the fans both turn on, the wiring circuit is good. If the fans do not turn on other wise, with the a/c switch off, there is a coolant sensor that is located in the lower part of the radiator, replace this. If the fans do not come on with the a/c switch then there is a problem in the wiring circuit, check the wiring between the ecu and the relay (relay-located on the passenger side of the engine compartment)
