How can i find knock??

Well i just ordered the aeromotive kit from import evolutions and I'm planing on installing it as soon as it comes in,but i read in a different post that you can get knock if you don't set the regulator right.I guess my question would be,how can i find knock without having to buy dsmlink or a safc2?I'm on a budget right now,so i really don't want to have to spend more money than i have to.please help.TIA.

You can find knock the low budget way by running a logger and logging a third gear pull. Since you have a 2G, you'll have to identify knock by looking for dips in the timing. As far as the FPR affecting knock, this would come about through setting the fuel pressure too low or too high (rich knock or lean knock). Make sure that base fuel pressure is set to 43psi with the vacuum line off and you should be fine.

43psi without vacuum hose, not that hard really but a logger is a great tool at any stage. Make sure you check for fuel leaks before you get happy with it. How much psi are you running?

Do you mean a obd2 scanner?and i'm running about 15 psi,but haven't been driving it since i found out about overrunning the stock fpr.What kind of loggers would you recommend?thanks.
