My new 97 has 650 injectors and vented greddy bov. It starts and runs, smells a little rich. I plan on getting the kit from extremepsi for the bov and dsmlink for the injectors and tuning. I suspect the car was a dog when driven. It does have a 255 walbro with regulator which is amazing.

Yes whatever you do I would HIGHLY recommend not running it vented. Switching to a larger turbo forced me to run vented until I could modify my intake and let's just say my car did not like it at all. Even with both springs in the BOV and it tightened down, my car would still die at stops and not want to idle. Also lifting off the throttle would cause the car to stumble and buck and it was a really unpleasant ride. Like you said, the car will run rich and I noticed this too, resulting in only around 85 miles to a half a tank of gas and I could smell gasoline when I got out of the car.

To answer the question "how bad would this run..." It could run bad enough to wash out your rings and ruin your engine. It could run bad enough to cause hydro-lock and ruin your engine. It could run bad enough to cover everything in your combustion chamber and exhaust with carbon (including the O2 sensor). It could also do any number of awful things that happen when you run too rich. It will for sure run bad enough to foul your spark plugs and have the car randomly die every so often.

Glad you know better than he did to ask before trying to drive it around :D. Put some 450's back in and save up for DSMlink. recirc your BOV, and you'll be good as new!

Another option is a GM MAF-T and That will run you $300 for everything you need to vent your BOV and compensate for the larger injectors. Good Luck.

To put it in technical terms it would run like a piece of ASE Certified Dog Sh1t LOL LOL

And waste a ton of gas while not making power and setting a bad image for the rest of us DSM'ers.

However, put some fuel management on it and your are off to a good start on building a fast car.

Ha Ha...I didn't do it! I'm for sure getting dsmlink and a ecu. I'm going to place a order with extremepsi for the kit to convert my bov to one I can recirculate. Just got the car home last night, so I need to see what else needs fixing. Lowering springs are also going, as are the stickers. Saved this car from a possible rice out. It has some good parts just needs to be all brought together and tuned.

Looking at your car DSMunknown I am reminded to get rid for the clear rear tail lights also.

kit for the bov^^

DSMLink will be great for tuning the injectors. It won't do anything for the vented BOV. Reciculate somehow, or get a MAFt or MAP system set up.
