Since my bro gets anything at cost from Kineticmotorsport.com, he can get me this 50 trim at cost or for around $600 and thats shipped to my door. But Im not exactly sure about this specific 50 trim...has anyone used it? What would be the disadvantages (if any) of using this 50 trim since there are so many of them out there. I would want to go with the FP GREEN, but thats a little out of my price range. Im not anywhere near close to needing/ being able to buy a new turbo yet...I just want to see what you guys thought...

Kinetic carries all of the SBR turbo's. They have a few bolt on 50 trims. Kinetic is housed in the same building as ADP turbo, they should be able to build you whatever you want for a decent price.

You will need a new manifold, downpipe, o2 housing, and a wastegate, oil feed and return lines, new gaskets and so on. Take that 600 and make it at least 1200

i realize that...im taking it one part at a time.

Hes showing you that you are not getting them at cost, so no need to limit yourself to a turbo from a specific vendor.

'At cost' pricing can vary greatly among several different consumers. Just because they say 'at cost' doesn't explain what cost they are giving it to you, i.e. My mechanic friend gets parts 'at cost' from Mitsubishi, and they always cost more than the 'at cost' a different friend gets while working at the dealership. When dealing with smaller businesses/retailers its kind of a selling ploy to try and get the account while seemingly making little to no money on it, while still retaining some of the sellers profits. If they were to actually sell everything to private businesses at the exact cost they purchased them at, there would be no free market.

ok can someone actually give me some advise/ opinions on this turbo? Im not saying Im getting this turbo...he just pointed it out to me and that I could get it for cheap and I was simply asking for opinions. Its not like Im buying a turbo within the next few weeks.

from what i can tell based off what you said i would say you need a bolt-on 50trim. something like PTE's SCM5031 or maybe an S256 like i run. Cost effective, tested and proven, simple install.

The SCM5031 would basically be a quality version of the turbo you posted with a 360 thrust bearing and a 1 year warranty. All stuff that is worth the extra $150.

I agree with prostreetdsmx1. SCM5031 is a great turbo for pump gas and DD. Can't go wrong with the warrenty either. Either that or the SBR G50 turbo is a good idea. As far as sponsorships go they are all pretty much cutting a few bucks to get you to buy from them. I have never been sponsored but I can tell you that the company I bought my PTE 50 trim from this week and a bunch of other goodies made me a deal and the turbo ended up costing me $429 and they still made a good profit off the stuff I bought. You would be amazed at what some companies buy for. Look at the AGP DSM "RACE" FMIC. They buy them from the same company XS Power get's thier's from. Yet AGP charges $850 for there name and XS Power puts it on ebay and still makes money.

What do you want to know it's a t3 or t4 50 trim I can't tell by the pic I would imagine though you can get it in either or. All it says is 50 trim and you pic the ar so I mean it doesn't really tell you anything to determine if it's good or not. You want to know what I think about this turbo ..... it's cool

If you want opinions about the 50 trim turbo, you merely have to put in "50* trim" in the search option. You'll bring up HUNDRED's of threads about different types of 50 trim turbos.

I've had a standard dry SBR G50 turbo and am currently using the BB 5031 from PTE. Power potential of a 50 trim is awesome. CanadianTSi went 11.8's on his 50 trim with supporting mods and lots of boost. The 50 trim is extremely streetable (lag is for whiners) and the reason why it is so popular is because it offers td06H 20g type power at a fraction of the price. Granted, there have been ups and downs with different types of 50 trim turbos (Turbonetics CHRA FTL, Garrett FTW!) but for 600 dollars and what GVR4 said, You may be able to score a Mitsu flanged 50 trim for a good price. If you can, get the ball bearing version and if not, the standard dry bearing 50 trim is awesome too. Get the Mitsu hot side and you're good to go without buying all of the extra stuff to switch to t3 or t4.
