I think I may have crankwalk because I hear a ticking noise from behind the dash. (sounds like timing belt area) My car feels like it runs great so what do you guys think. I think it is the crankshaft hitting my crank angle sensor but I am not totally sure. Has anyone ever heard of the balance shafts making noise like that when they are broken? Not sure If I should build a new bottom end or just keep driving it beacuse it is a 95 with only 68k on the motor. Any suggestions?

Other than the ticking noise the car is smooth and I am not getting and knock on my datalogger. I know for sure that it is not lifter tick.

I grabbed the crank pulley and tried to move it but it felt fine. I figured the only way to really check for crank end play is by taking off the trans or pulling the oil pan and I don't want to do that right now. If my thrust bearing was fine and their was no crankshaft endplay then do you guys have any idea on what that ticking could be. Is their any chance that it could be starting to hit the CAS. Like I said my car seems to run great but it makes that stupid ticking noise.

The ticking noise seems to be louder when it is cold outside or when the motor is not warmed up and once I get higher than about 2500 rpms then it goes away. i was thinking that maybe the ticking sound was a relay or something. I already checked my ecu for leaking capacitors and I found nothing!

You can check endplay on the timing belt side, there is a write-up on how to do that somewhere on this site. I did a quick search and didn't find it, but I've seen it many times before.

The best way to figure out if its hitting the CAS is to take off the timing cover and get under it when its running and track down the noise that way. If its hitting the sensor, you'll know it when you see it. Another good way to track down the noise is to use a stethoscope or put your ear on a screwdriver. Works great and it'll help you figure out where its coming from.
