Hooking up evc with external wastegate...

Im gonna run my hks evc with my external wastegate..it says i need to keep the line that connects on the right side of the throttle body, less than 3 feet.I was gonna tee into the bov line cause it is the closest to where i could mount the hks box...will this work ok?if not...why? I already have my boost gauge t'd into the intake mani line and it is too far away so I feel this is the best option.
