hey guys,

Im putting in a viper 791xv alarm. Im having trouble locating the hood pin trigger wire. Its states it on the fust box harness. Well, I found two (blue/blk) wires, one thicker than the other.

I pulled the harness out of the fusebox, tested each harness for gnd. (used a digimultimeter-Red Probe to constant 12v, and blk Probe to either wire) I had my brother push on the pin to see if the current breaks to 0 but I still get a constant 12V on both wires. NOthing changes when the Pin is open and closed.

Can someone here who has installed an alarm help me find the hood pin trigger wire? THanks!

btw I own a 95 eclipse GST.

Isn't the stock hood trigger in the latch? You can always add a hood trigger. The alarm should have come with one.

I am also looking for the hood trigger wire. I know its blue/black on the switch, but I cannot find it when it comes into the cabin. All posts say that it is on the junction/fuse box. I unplugged all the connectors and tested all the blue/black wires and wasnt able to find it. Does anyone have an updated info?

*****EDIT: I found it! It is the blue/black wire on the left side of the junction box. Its inn a yellow connector between the metal of the car and the side of the fuse box. Do not waste your time hunting the blue/black wires on the front of the box.

You'll have to remove the bottom bolt holding the fuse box to be able to see the connector. Or if you just want the wire, it is the small bundle of (20?) wires that are running to the side of the fuse box. They are hanging lower than the bunch of 100 wires that are going to the front of the box.

PS. my neck hurts
