Okay Mane,
Here it goes.
Rollin around in my 2.4l spyder I decided to research on doing the DOHC swap, and in the process I'm gonna throw a turbo on there.
4g64.150m.com had some good information however I noticed they just swapped heads, not using a turbo I plan on using a turbo...
Now since the bore I ASS U ME that I should port the head to match the stock 4g64 bore however what should I do to compensate the stroke? Another thing I noticed was it said you could make your own head gasket, however I couldn't read to find out weather or not I'd still need to seal the 5 holes in the 2.4 block Has anyone done this before? If so, I need some helps.. So far I have the head, intake manifold, and throttle body which I'm sure are the same size as the 4g64 but I'm gonna use them anyway. Another thing, do I need to lower the compression any before I go boosted or is the compression ratio safe where it is??
I want to run a Big 16g turbo and I want to keep it street tuned at 14 lbs. If anyone has any tips for me that'd be great!
Thanks
Dylan.

If you use a 4g63 head on a 4g64 block you MUST block off those 5 holes. You can have a machine shop fill them in, or drill them out a bit and use freeze plugs, or just any makeshift way to fill them in without damaging anything.

Currently I'm trying to find out what gasket to use, either the SOHC cometic gasket, or the OEM dohc gasket from the 94 galant. My thread in the above forum has info on this.

Is this a 7 bolt issue? There have been several 6 bolt 4G64 bottom end/4G63 DOHC engines built around here (including mine) that nothing was blocked off. The head gasket will seal everything.

To make your own ead gasket you need this. Don't get the blue stuff the red High temp stuff is what you need:

:D

not to be ignorant, but do you guys really make head gaskets out of that "gasket maker"??????????????? i find that so funny:tease: HOW LONG DO U EXPECT THIS TO HOLD THE PRESSURE THAT IS BUILDS UP, LIKE WHE COOLANT PRESSURE? OR THE PRESSURE FROM ONE CYLINDER TO THE NEXT?:beatentodeath:

Kevin at Jack Transmissions built a 2.4L car in one day and ran an 11.6 with a junkyard block. They went to local junkyard and pulled 2.4L Block from an Expo. Compression was over 200, it was crazy. They through a turbo head on it and went to the track. Second run was the best of 11.6 with tires spinning and when he drove back after the run you can here the rod bearing just banging bad.

But he ran an 11.6 and built the whole car in one day in a rush just to make it to the track the next day.

Jayrolla, can you give me a list of what year and such from each vehicle because im going to be doing this exact same thing this weekend and want to do it right. They are having a half off sale at my local junkyard so want to take advantage of it.
