Holset turbo Question for 1JZGTE.

HI All,

My query is very simple, but i failed to find the answers as where I should have asked!

I want to install holset turbo in 1JZGTE, I just want to ask the appropriate turbine housing size to use in my motor, ill be using my car for drag racing!


I Have a HX-35, with following specs,
8 blade compressor wheel,
12 blade turbine wheel
18cm^2 exhaust housing.

your opinion is my decision!!

wow my brother. how much nos will you use to spool that? you must have a frieghtliner turbo. i did a 1jz corolla. i used a gt40 with a .58 a/r exhaust housing. that spooled instantly. there was no 2jz no matter what size turbo that could keep up. top or bottom end. you have an advantage. your motor revs faster. take advantage of your advantage. i would use a smaller exhaust housing. don't switch the turbo though. holset's have great center cartridges. look for an exhaust housing more towards 10cm. you will then be less like most supra owners that can only race on a dyno.

actually we are not offered with 10cm housing,
can u suggest where can I buy this Housing online..

bullseye power offers a housing for that specific turbo. it has a dsm flange on it though. you would have to cut off the flange if you have a stainless steel manifold and weld on the dsm flange.

I hope its not too Expensive!!

after lot of search!
Was quoted a Holset dealer yesterday! so I spared some time and visited him today,

there I found HX35W, internally gated and on housing it was 12 written on it.
So i guess it 12cm,

the shop guy said he will sell it to me! Plus!!
he will change the compressor to 56, 58 or 60mm, which ever i want.
will it run the same way as BEP?

So i Would like to ask that 12cm = ??A/r..
