Hey guys im new to the forum and am not aloud to post in the Turbo's section yet, so ill have to post here.

My first question is can i bolt up my WH1C 12cm turbine housing to a super HX40?

My second question would be what size turbine housings do they come with? What RMP should i see full boost (26-28psi) with a 2.2l?

Whats the consensus on rebuilding these things? Rebuild them with a genuine holset rebuild kit yourself? Ive been told they are all zero balanced and dont need to be rebalanced as an assembly once rebuilt.

Anyone?

I would try, but this whole newbie thing sucks. So until i get some cred here i cant really post anywhere good.

But i did find out that the 12cm WH1C turbine housing will NOT bolt up to the HX40... Which is kinda a bummer, but oh well.

Does anyone know what the smallest turbine housing is for the HX40 or HX40W?

Good to know. Ill take a look at that. I think im gonna stick with my WH1C for now and then when i get board with it go to the HX40

The standard BEP .55 AR is mitsu flanged (which is what "bolt on" meant) however I think there's a T3 flanged .55 AR BEP housing floating around somewhere, not sure why you'd go that route though.

Nope...not even close to being the same size turbine wheel.

16cm & 18cm T3 divided, and 17cm, 19cm, and 22cm T4 divided.

Depends on which housing you use.

You don't need to rebuild them unless there is evidence of seal leakage, shaft play, or if you're unsure of it's origin (ex- you bought it at a junkyard or from eBay).

Early Holsets with a 6-point 14mm compressor locknut were balanced as a rotating assembly; later Holsets with a 12-point 10mm compressor locknut are component-balanced.

You don't have to be able to post to get the answers you're looking for on this site. There are hundreds of Holset-related threads with thousands of pages of information on the exact questions you're asking in this thread.

From Holset, 16cm T3 divided. From Bullseye Power, there are .55 a/r DSM bolt-on housings as well as a .70 a/r open-scroll T3 housing.
