holset hx35 is slow too spool up

I have just installed my new turbo, a holset hx35 7blade, at 25psi I have 42 pounds per minute. Is this normal? And its really slow to spool up. My motor is stock 6bolts with a 3 inch down pipe with a cutoff. The intake to the turbo is a dejon 2 ½,I want to install a 4 inch, I have a oil restrictor 0.079 and the return line is ¾ of inche and I drilled out the oil pan hole to ¾ .Why would my turbo be so slow to spool and I can,t semm to get anymore than 42 pounds out of it.

that is a big turbo but it should spool decently. What rpm are you out of vacuum? Also it may be boost leaks, that seems to be the biggest problem with turbo cars. 42lb per min is a lot, but idk if thats a lot for a holset. i cant view your log on my computer, how much boost are you running.
 
I would try it without the intake. 2.25 seems fairly small. How big is the aircleaner? I can't look at your log from my phone :(

You reading 42 lbs/min @ 25psi, i believe that's about normal, although all car will vary!
and 660's seem to be small IMO, i would feel that you are working them hard by 7k! (sorry i can't view the log to see IDC's)
And again, where (RPM) is it hitting full boost for you?
Have you done a boost leak test to ensure it's not as simple as that?
And exhaust leaks can do it also, when you put it on did you make sure you replaced all gaskets?
Again it could be that simple!

My gaskets sealed perfect, but i took my manifold off to get rid of the old 1g mani i had that had holes tapped in it. and my head to mani gasket doesn't seal anymore! Can hardly notice it visually or by listening, but you sure can feel the difference in spool it caused on my 14b!

Do you have an exhaust leak? Pre turbo will hurt your spool.

my h1c is fully spooled my 3000 rpm i flow 28 lbs a min at 14 psi your mani to turbo might not have a good seal and timing is a big thing it wont spool at like 8 degrees time like some peoples logs i see
 
Not saying that's your whole problem...but it has to be part of it. There's another thread on here where the owner didn't install the sealing ring in his wastegate and it caused a slow spool situation.

just instald the fp intake ,it is spooling faster cool
 
What type of fuel are you using? 24* of timing at 6000RPM is really advanced, even for e85.
 
When we were actually tuning my car (note that all engines and setups are a bit different) with e85 we found that I was able to run up to 26* of timing with no knock but from 18* to 26* I only gained 3 AWHP so I decided to not risk it and back my timing up to 17* and run more boost it netted me much more actual HP and torque at the wheels.

Just a heads up that you can probably make just as much power with a much better safety margin at lower timing.
