Hey guys, I got a question for all of you. For you guys running an hx40 what has been your proven oil return line and what components have you used to make it. I have gone through 2 oil lines and still no luck. First, I had the return line from my gt40 and the inlet hole for that line was way too small and oil would seep from the sides. Then, I had a custom line made where we took the inlet base from a larger oil line and welded it onto the end of my gt40 oil line to make it bigger but alas, that has also failed me for some reason. What is the nest reccomendation for an oil return line for an H1e/Hx40 turbo? If you made one, what parts did you use? Thanks a bunch. This is basically the only thing holding me back from posting in the Holset Result Thread :ohdamn:.

I know there is a thread about how oil return lines are too narrow but I was wondering if anyone out there has a good functioning oil line and if they can share what they used for this??

The holset manual just says the i.d. of the return line must be a minimum of 19mm or 3/4 which is 19.1mm. People have been welding -12 bungs to the pan beasue the stock hole is a choke point, not being close to -12.

I am in the same boat with my HX-35. Currently using the return supplied by BEP and not liking the return ID size at all (especially though those silver fittings).

IF someone started to make a kit for the oil return that was even close to 19mm ID, I would buy it. There is NO WAY that the return I have on is remotely near 19mm....and I don't want to kill my Holset...not when it's this much fun to drive...:rocks:

Can you explain the -12 bung thing a little better please. I'd appreciate it. I'm kinda lost sorry:hmm:.

To be a little more clear about my problem, the hole that the oil leaves my turbo and the hole that mates up to that hole from my return line seem to be way too different. What have people been using for that area?

This is what I am having issues with. It seems like the hole on this is much too small for the hole on the turbo. So i replaced it with one that is bigger and that still didn't work. Any suggestions?

Wow now thats impressive :thumb:. Where'd you get the Cummins oil drain?

Dang that looks like a rare piece, I've been trying to find it but no luck.

I'm thinking of getting an oem oil line for the H1e or Hx40 and adapting it somehow. Any idea where I can grab one? I know the dealer but they will need a VIN most likely.
