oh ok just rusted LOL so once i unbolt it it will come off with a bang or to and how many bolts do i need to take out /////// yes my profile is right i had a obx high flow cat but i took it out and gave it to my bro he has the same car as me so he put my stock one back on but that was a few months back the reason im asking questions is because i dont remember what my bro did and how he took it off

thats weird did not know about the platinum how would you get cash for it LOL?? and thanks for the step by step project 2g

You would sell it to someone who can get it melted down and serparate the metals. Here is a place that can do it if you don't know anyone locally.

ScrapYourCats.com - Cash for Catalytic Converters, recycling catalytic converters, catalytic converter, Cash for Catalytic Converters, scrap converters, buying scrap converters, buying catalytic converter

snakeyes711 when you put it back on did it sound sick i know you mentiond it sounds good but how good and did you feel a diffrence at high end top speed ....

oh and dose any dsmers out there have any videos on how there dsm sounds with a hallowed cat?

I can make you a vid. of how it sounds. I don't push "top speeds" on the highway
though. You could always go grab a piece of 2" straight pipe, and shove it down inside there if you like. My muffler doesn't sound "raspy" at all.

kool thanks bro ill be waiting for that video and just to add how did you take it off was yours welded because when i went to take off mine it looked as if it was welded on

I did this earlier this summer on my other car. I used a big prybar, hammer and some other long random tools, basically whatever you can find to shove in there and hit. I used a piece of conduit too.
It is not a fun job and after swinging that hammer around your arm WILL hurt.

Mine was probably the stocker. It has flanges on both ends. After not being able to take the bolts out. I just cut it off close to the end of the flange. Then again I've got a little Miller welder too.

Gamble, I hear that. On the other hand I swing a 1lb sledge everyday in metal fabrication.

You should really just leave your cat alone. If you hollow it out or put a test pipe your 02 sensor after the cat is going to adjust your fuel trim and cause a CEL to come on and detune the engine to compensate for the excess emissions.

I'm pretty sure the rear o2 doesn't adjust the fuel curve. Any other guys who did this have that problem?

not bad sounds good that sounds beast to me i dont care what others think sounds bad ass thanks bro

to bad i caint do it on mine i really dont wanna have to go thew cutting the pipe and haveing to pay someone to weld it i dont have a welder so i gusse ill just move on to something else that i have to do... thanks for the help

If I wasn't in NC I'd do it up for ya for 5-10 bucks just for welding wire, and CO2 gas. Call a couple shops, and see how much damage it'd do. I mean a new cat cut off, and welded on a new one is 80 bucks including the cat.
