i know i see these posts alot, but everyone has different mods and are at a different level, so one post cant answer eveyones needs...so my question is: what mods (of any sort) should i do next? i have a thermal exhaust, 3" dp and cat, injen intake, 7" clarion lcd radio, black angel eye projectors, lambo doors, black (with chrome lip and chrome buttons) 18" rims, falken tires, a/f gauge and boost/vac gauge, new dash gauges, leds all over the interior, shift knob, boot, pedals, new speakers up front and rear, viper 791 alarm, basically spent a majority of my money on cosmetic parts to this point. car came with tints but are not that dark at all, and has small holes in them... so i was thinking of doing a turbo upgrade, but with that comes things like injectors fmic boost controller etc... and then the more tech things like dsm links etc...so i could go that route, or i could finish up the outside with a oem c/f hood, lowering it (which im not tooooo concerned with), fresh paint job, new tints, and some subs in the back. which would you chose? or is there something else i've over looked and you would suggest? im trying to sway away from a bodykit, but if someone shows me the right combo of front bumper and side skirts that'll look CLEAN on a silver and black spyder, then ill consider it. but for now, any suggestions?? i can get pics of aything you would like to see because the pics in my profile are from maybe a week of me having the car...

(and sorry for the essay :nono: )

WTF .....cosmetics? i would sell all of it for a 16g  , ok just kidding here.

Ok if i was in your shoes, i would first lower the car work on good springs for now, get a bov, boost controller, fuel pump, then a bigger turbo.

oh god, theres yr mistake right there

not really...it was going to get done sooner or later, ive only had the car for barely 2 months and ive already done all this...minus getting minor repairs done here and there...the car wasnt in that great of a condition when i got it so i had to make it look nice first, especially since im still a college student and girls are suckers for a nice looking car :sneaky: if i get a bigger turbo, wont i have to get more than a boost controller, bov, and a fuel pump if i want to run more than the stock 10-15 or so that the t25 can hold? injectors..front mount (cant i heat soak the stock smic?) then that would lead to things like hard upper and lower ic piping? porting...

It all depends how much you wanna run, from your description you don't seem to into hardcore boost, but you might want to get a front mount it looks cool and i bet those college girls would like that shiny thing in the front. LOL! , but look the t-25 can hold 16 pounds with the stock fuel, get a fuel pump and maybe you push a couple more pounds, but its not even worth it cause that t-25 is way to small and hit doesn't make it to redline with the boost over 11psi. But way before that your stock bov can only hold 12 pound maybe a Little more depending on how used it is, so trust me, first get BOV before anything then get a fuel pump 190 is good. get a 14b or 16g depending how you want your ride, run clean safe boost 11-15 punds depending what turbo, then stop and work on something else like springs or tints or neons ROFL ok just kidding again, then go back to the motor get a catback front mount and injectors and right when you get injectors get a logger and safc (cheapest reliable way to tune), And hit the dyno by then you shouldve been around long enough to realistically know what you are aiming for and how to get there.

actually i was looking at the t04b v-trim...$ really doesn't matter in this situation...but i was looking on the bulls eye website and they had the v-trim with the opions of internal/external waste gate, water cooled bearing housing, different actuator options etc... could someone please explain the differences and/or advantages of having either of these on your car? this isnt set in stone though, becase ive read alot about the v-trim having probems with slow spool up time, so any other turbo suggestions would be appreciated. i was looking for the 350-400 hp range...

It all depends on what you want to use the car for. If for the track, go with a large turbo. If just on the street, you might want to consider buying something like that, fwd's have a hard enough time with traction. Whatever turbo you use, port it, the exhaust manifold, and O2 housing. Definitely get a mbc and bov first, then at least an uicp.

In the 350-400HP range I'd recommend the:
1) FP Green
2) AGP RS49T
3) 20G

All of them are bolt on turbos that use the DSM Turbine housing. If you get internal, you have a higher chance of getting boost creep. I'd get an external manifold mounted wastegate and route it back into the exhaust. You'll need FMIC, boost controller, BOV or CBV, injectors, fuel pump, FPR if you go with 255 and SAFC/MAFT with a logger or DSMLink or some other Fuel controller.

Yeah, definitely get some go on your DSM. Probably too early for a turbo upgrade though. Look at the tech guide on this website.

well looking at those 3 choices, id prob go with the RS49T. so ill prob get the pump 1st, the bov, boost controller, the injectors and try nd get the turbo and fmic w/ pipes at the same time...but then i prob wont install them until i get the dsmlink just to make sure i dont mess anything up... during the time im waiting for the link, id prob get a few things ported so by time i get the link i can put evrything on and not have to take anything back apart later on (unless there's a problem)

and btw, i see you live in tallahassee...i go to FAMU

OK if money isn't an issue here this is what i would do.
~HKS bov
~Catback 3"
~Boost controller
~255 fuel pump With a fpr
~20g turbo
~FMIC kit
~with the turbo get a 3inch d/p
~Some 660s pocket logger s-AFC
~ Hit the dyno and voila you have a fast car. :thumb:
These are most likely in order to what you should do, guages are recommended to necessary upgrades.

Brand depends on, how deep your pockets are, in your case that shouldn't matter

i was thinking pure rice when i was reading ur thread, then i thoguht to see if you have any pics of your car, and it actually does not look to bad, i would stick with your stock paint, but you do need to lower it the car will look more completed.

if it was me i would start investing money in go fast parts, but right now it seems that show is more of a priority to you

Well, if you read the thread correctly, he is pretty much done with the cosmetics and is looking for an upgrade path not a negative opinion on the route he has traveled already, and yes if he was you performance parts would be quite frankly a first on the wishlist, as to you right? running a 15 sec 1/4 mile on an awd, with a worked 16g? and almost all the supporting mods? Not to be bring you down but if there is nothing helpful to say please just keep your comment to yourself. :thumb:

I agree with your choice of an rs49 i have heard many good things about them all though when i first got into DSM's six years ago the Green was the turbo i one day planned on owning it was like my dream turbo soo I say that would be a good choice. I would say the list you made for yourself is a very good route to go and if you do get a DSM link I would recomend getting a MAF blow through setup soo you can vent your bov into the air and it does help performance a bit too

i already have an intake 3" downpipe 3" cat and a thermal exhaust which is why they werent listed on my list of things left to do...gauges i have a boost/vac and an air/fuel. so really i just need the injectors and pump, turbo and frontmount, and some electronics to monitor everything...SOON after that ill prob get some better brakes and lower it and that'll be close to a finished project for me..thanx for the help guys! any more recommendations id appreciate them! :dsm:

You should get hydraulics, strobes and neons naxt. You can even get one of those disco ball dome light kits too at this point. :tease:
