So I have installed the topline revised hla's, bled them in engine oil till no air came out when pumping, then purged the oil to make them "spongey". I have read conflicting information when researching weather to install them like this, or pumped up with oil and rock hard. I have not installed rockers or cams yet so I can easily take them back out and redo it, I just want to get the general concensus from the guru's. What are yall's thoughts? Soft makes sense to me as to not force a valve into the piston when first cranking.

Do NOT install them pumped up. Install them spongey. They will clatter at first startup. If you wish to minimize that you can prime the system first but in my experience it takes a running engine to get them fully pumped up and in working order.

Installing them soft can cause a rocker arm to fall off. It will also cause the car to run like shit until it builds enough oil pressure to fill the lifters which can take a few minutes

Always install them hard. It’s the only way to ensure they are filled with clean oil, and that the rocker arms won’t fall off because they can’t contact the camshaft

I’m not sure why you would call it bleeding the lifters if you just fill them with air after you pump them full of oil.

How do you ensure you dont hang a valve open from a fully pumped up HLA?

Lol see what I'm saying? Both make sense in their own ways. I installed them soft, and then second guessed myself and came to ask yall.
Factory manual states to submerse in diesel fuel and pump them to remove all air. I pump them up in oil. When I install its clear they can still pump up a little more.
