What is this snap-ring i'm hearing about? I'm about to order the HKS BOV w/recirc. and i have no idea what you guys are talking about. I've read the how to on this page:

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1082945

but what's c-clip and o-ring everyone's talking about? Anyone got any pics of where it should go? Cause the look of the page didn't mention anything about an o-ring or clip.

All that page does is show you how to install the recirc kit. It doesn't show how to install the BOV. You will also need to order a flange for it, to weld onto a pipe. in the flange their is a channel where the o-ring goes to seal the BOV to the flange.

The "snap ring" or "c-clip" are these pain in the ass(unless you have the 20$ tool): they look like this: http://www.truarc.com/ 4th one from the left.

You put the BOV in the flange, push it down and then put the snap ring in(over the flange and into an already cut channel). Tough to do if you dont have the special tool that goes in the holes.

Im sorry guys if this sounds stupid, but I am new at this.Just have one question if someone can answer it.I just removed the emissions stuff and i was wondering if I need to hook the bov (stock) back into the turbo pipe or if I can block it off.If so I just leave the opening on the side of the bov vented or cap it.Also wondering if I have to do the egr block off with the emissions stuff removed.By the way im doing this to my 97 eclipse gsx turbo(automatic).Any help would be great thank you.

Nice bump :coy:

This has been answered a million times.. yes you should hook the bov back into the turbo pipe as your car will randomly die as the car is looking for that metered air.

Regarding the EGR, the block off isn't completely needed but highly recommended. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/409994-egr-blockoff-necessary-can-i-just-cap-off.html

Search harder next time man, you could have easily found the answer to both those questions without bumping this thread.

Do you mean the intake pipe which runs from the MAT to the inlet on the turbo. If so you can get a Recirculation kit or cap the intake tube and vent it which is not a great idea. Then if you have the flange you will need to weld it to your inter cooler pipe and if you don't have hard pipe you may need to get some other wise get the kit from HKS that attach's the bov to your stock pipes. Good luck man if there is any thing else you need let us know.

i have a ? how can u make your greedy bov sound like a ngr type s ?
