now would these cams help me out, ive come across a deal for both for 375$ and im working on getting a SMIM also.

Just wondering if these will help me even with my turbo.

Any thought would be nice and also do I need anything else besides just the cams.

Thanks,

I'm not sure what the flow limits are of the 14b, but I'm sure a set of cams will get you there at a relatively low psi. This will let you run a little more agressive tune and make sure you can get the most out of it on pump gas. The cams will really come into play when you want to switch to a bigger turbo. Same goes for a SMIM. With cams and a SMIM, it doesn't take much to max out a 20g ;)

What about a EVOIII 16g? That is the turbo im looking at buying, or a T3/T4 but I really like the EVOIII 16g.

Thanks,

Thanks,

People have loged over 40 lb/min on them(evo3-16gs) so cams are a perfect upgrade to get you to that flow level with about 20-22psi (depending on intake temps). The intake manifold would let you hit that flow ceiling at even less boost. I would have to guess around 16-17 psi, which would make it easy to tune on pump gas. The best part is if you ever want to run an even bigger turbo, you have the platform to make PLENTY of power.

Did you try these specific cams? Any results? I know about the whole ''re-grind'' ordeal. I have these cams, And alot of other people also have them, With great things to say about them. Unless you tried these cams, You shoulden't say they suck. This is kind of like the whole ebay thing in every other thread that people argue about. I'm not arguing, I'm just saying that unless you have used them, I don't think you should talk bad about them.

Me and a friend of mine have ran then for about almost four months now and have had no problems, either in them breaking or in stomping the shit out of other cars. Besides if they were really bad i dont think they would give a warranty on them.

as to the first poster. I would go with stright 272. Most people will who end up going for that extra amount of hp. Plus it will give you an idle that will scare most small children.

I still have my 14b and after i put cams in it, the car started to scare me like it did when i first had it. I then put a dejon manifold on top of that, and its a very choise. You will like the way it runs.

Im getting a deal for both cams for 375$ If i buy one then the other ill be spending alot more. I plan on getting a EVOIII 16g but before that im getting a alcohol/water/meth injection for my car. Turbo will be the last thing or close to last thing I buy..

Thanks,

$375 for both is a steal. I would jump on it right away as long as they are the real deal and in good shape.

Being you have a 97 has the intake cam already been drilled & tapped for the cam angle sensor? If not this is something you will have to get done before you can install them.

That's a good point. Most shops will tap the CAS for around $20-30 or so. The cams are a bit much for a 14B, but will do well with an EVO III or larger.

They are coming out of a 97 eclipse so it is already been done...

How do they look yall?
