I have a set and am ready to install them. How will my idle be,much rougher than stock. Will the cams be noticeable with my current mods.Mods are 50 trim agp rs49,supra tt pump,650 injectors, afpr, maf, maft translator, apexi n1 and catback. Will the car become much doggier around town its fine now and the mid and top end power is great with the 50 trim, the bit slower spool actuallly makes it a bit safer to drive thru the winter.

Also what are best springs for the this cam.The hks are matching but dont' even seem to come with retainers. The crower look good are they a good choice for the buck. Also will the springs hurt anything with factory valves and can I install my cams with factory springs if keep the rev limiter stock right now?

I would reall appreciate some feedback on these cams ,power, driveability, etc.

Hi,

I e-mailed with John shepherd and he told me to lean out the idle a lot to compromise with the much more airflow. For the rest I didn't had to adjust to much. I gained a half second in the 1/4 mile with a big T28 and supporting mods. And I went up from 103 to 109 mph.
Oh, and I am running stock valves, springs and retainers.

The 264/272 combo should give you a idle close to stock.

You wont need to upgrade your valve train. The stock DSM valve train is pretty beefy from the factory, and has been proven to work with 272's at 8k+rpms.

Yes cams will make a big difference. At 26psi with stock cams im limited to 40lb/min of airflow. People with cams and close to the same mods are getting 40lb/min at 20psi.
