Hello everyone. I just picked up a 96 Talon TSI AWD "automatic" to run for the winter and use as a second car. I plan on getting another DSM in the spring to Mod again as Ive owned several of these cars. For this post I wanted to see how many other people have extreme high miles on a Turbo AWD DSM. The talon I just bought has 254,000 miles on it and looks like a low mileage car inside and out! The turbo boosts 10psi and there is no smoke or visible leaks. the tranny shifts good into all gears and everything works. The only thing i hear is a little gear whine at highway speed but is barely noticible. I just can belive one of these cars could go a quarter-millon miles. And yes the car is bone stock original!!!

any input or similar experiences welcome!

Very surprising, I hope it lasts alot longer for you? Do you know when the turbo was last replaced, or if it has any shaft play? Good luck with it.

I wouldn't worry about the tranny whine, just swap out the fluid w/factory fill stuff. I have about 163K on my car and I still drive it like I stole it all day long-no problems. :D

couldnt the whiny noise from trans possibly have something to do with the transfer case = recalL?

Wow, I feel lucky now...I only have 58k on my gst. I would just recommend the typical preventative and regular maintenance and you should be fine :thumb:

153,000 and the compression is still in the 150's!!!

I hope I can get another 100,000 out of mine! :talon:

nice that makes me feel happy becuase i only got 50,000km on my engine and 150,000km on my car which i don't know what that is in miles..LOL but its lower thats for sure ROFL :rocks:

Hmm.....well, my car is almost at 149k mi., and its a 90. But I did have to replace pistons/rings, bearings, gaskets, well basically rebuilt da WHOLE thing. So, I dont think my car really counts. ooooh well too bad.

just rolled over to 80k on mine 2 days ago... i got it with barely 78k and now im selling it. o yea and i had a 95 gs n\t got it with 162k sold with 168k i got scared it would blow! OMG
