So, I finally finished installing my new 2.4 block and fixing my shep tranny. Everything seems to be working great, but my idle is stuck at 2000 rpms and I can't seem to get it to drop. I put a venom intake manifold (2g head) and a 1G throttle body on the car. The Venom Intake has no provisions for EGR. I read the vfaq on high idle and tried most of their tips but so far no luck. So far, I have unsucessfully tried (1), using carb cleaner to check for leaks, no dice. (2), I switched the idle control motor with one off my old 2g tb, still 2krpms. (3), adjusted the TPS, no luck. (4) Adjusted 50hz slider and fuel trims in dsmlink, but the idle is still way too high. Any other suggestions you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Start with the small things first. Have you checked for boost leaks? It seems you know what you are doing but it's the small things that kill ya. Keep us updated.

make sure your TB doesn't leak anywhere. especially at the shaft seals. sometimes its hard to find them there but that is one thing that will do it.

I would definitley start out by checking your throttle body gasket for any small leaks.

If that throttle body has any kind of leak letting in extra air the computer is going to respond by giving more fuel resulting in a much higher idle.

hope that helps

I need to check into that tb gasket leak too. I hear a whistle coming from that area. I supposed it's a leak? :p

Are you still running your stock MAF. I rebuilt my motor and had everything connected perfect but forgot to plug in my MAF sensor. Has yours thrown a check engine yet.

Is the thorttle butterfly closing all the way or is it hanging up on something or the throttle cable not letting it close.

Im using a 1g TB that I bought on the classifieds here with a brand new gasket from oreillys. I was using a 2g tb in my 2.0 motor before I blew it up so I guess it's possible that the 1g tb is faulty or maybe just dirty, but I seriously doubt it's the gasket. I already tried spaying carb cleaner all around to check for leaks with no luck. I guess I'll pull the 1G TB off and clean it out.
