hid reverse light

Interesting it is, however it would be better if you could aim it towards the ground to give off the most light.

i was doing that and getting "page not found" til just now, LOL

do you have any issues with the HIDs 'warming up'...? i know when i turn mine one, theyarent very bright for a good 10-15 seconds, and i dont take more than 5-10 to backup...but i have thought of this idea more than once!! :thumb:

Is a great idea, IF you can somehow reflect the light towards the ground. I think a backup camera will do more justice though. . .

Great idea! Its just like when we put some hellas on the rear of trail vehicles

I would only be worried about the sealant melting. But since as mentioned backing up doesn't take long, should be fine

and how often do you back up? especially with someone behind you.

I can definitely tell you that I like it. Countless times I've wished for more light backing up

How often does the tool in the Honda Odyssey with 10000k HIDs pointed at my face pass me on the road? Maybe once a month. It doesn't matter cause it blinds me every time he passes. Just like everytime this guy backups he is going to blind anyone and anything behind him, like that guy in the video coming down the street. HIDs need to be directed. You can't do that in a reflective housing. Blinding people so you look "mad tyte Jay-DEE-eM" while backing up only shows the world that you are self centered. I don't have any problem backing up my car at night.

its aimed down and i put reflective tape in the housing pointing down, honestly every time i back up now people just come up to me and ask me where i got them. cant complain!
warm up time is pretty much as fast as me putting it in reverse and turning to look back.

I actually really like the idea...i'd like it even more in a 2g though.

Have you thought about just retrofitting the bulbs in say, fog light housings, mounting them underneath the car pointing towards the ground, then wiring it separately from the reverse lights and triggering it with a switch in cabin?

Then post up a new pic or video and I'll retract my statement.
