Hey guys my name is Brandon i have been workin on cars for a few years now. Mainly honda's. acura's, and toyota's. I have decided to sell my civic in order to get a 92-94 gsx/tsi. I have done a lot of researching on this site and many others about the 1g but i still have a few questions. The first is about a FMIC. When is a fmic needed at what psi and what turbo and what not? I have been trying to figure out if it is something i should plan on or not. My plan is to eventually break 13's. I was also curious about the blowby setup or the maf translator. I am very confused about both of those setups but I am curious about running the bov straight to the atmosphere. I didnt know if anyone could fill me in a little bit more. I went to dsmparts.com and they had a few things in their catalog that i read about but I am still slightly confused. Also i just wanted to say this is by far the most informative dsm website I have found to date. So i appreciate everyone here helping out the so called "newbies" like me and intriguing us in the world of DSM's. Thanks again.

If your goal is 13's you dont need a fmic. Hell you dont need much. Full turboback exhaust, mbc, rewire your fuel pump, and good driving. I would definitely get a fmic with an upgraded turbo. The stock smic's suck and wont work well with a larger turbo. Recirculate that bov, I would go fix this first chance I got. The maf translator and gm maf allows you to place the air metering device before the TB instead of before the turbo, allowing you to vent your bov properly. It also allows tuning similar to a safc.

turbo back exhaust intake mbc boost gauge....bam 13s. Even with the blow by setup or any upgraded maf, dont vent to the atmosphere. Yeah it wont sound as cool but the air the blows off will help spool the turbo, trust me on this I have done both without driveability problems and recirculating is much better. Just get a 2g maf that can flow up to 400 hp(good enough for 10s-11s). Good luck and please dont rice it out....its a domestic
