I have a 92 Laser rs awd. When cruising my car will cut out as if fuel had been cut. There is no specific throttle it happens at and I've tested the TPS (was my first thought), the fuel filter and spark plugs are new this last summer. I have a Wlabro 255 fuel pump, KN air filter and other then that the engine is stock. Also sometimes after hesitation for five seconds or so there will be no throttle response and the engine light will come on, as soon as my throttle response returns the light goes out. Also very rarely at idol the engine will hunt from 900rpm to 1600rpm. Other then these intermittent problems the car runs and drive strong and even gets decent mileage. Ive searched the forums and nobody's problem seems to match mine very well. If anybody has had a similar problem their insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

did you change your wires? Usually the thing to do is change both (wires and plugs) at the same time. Also, did you gap your plugs right? That'd be my first thoughts man

No, I ohm'd the wires and they were fine also I did gap the plugs although I'm curious how poorly gaped plugs could have anything to do with an intermittent cruise hesitation? The stall is a complete engine hesitation, not a sputter like a spark issue. When I first bought the car their was no strainer sock on the fuel pump and when I cornered hard the pump would suck air and it would hesitate, this feels exactly the same. Also the way it acts when there isn't any throttle response points to a severe lean condition. What could cause an intermittent fuel cut off boost?

oh well that will work too. To my knowledge a bad gapped plug wont matter, or make enough difference. Did you test for a vacuum leak? whats your vacuum at idle?

no, the relay isn't clicking. The gauges all remain functional too. I forgot to mention that I've already put a new computer in it, sorry. I had that problem already :p. I see what I can do to borrow a vacuum gauge, that would explain the hunting at idol.

I finally got my problems fixed, it turned out to be the mass air flow sensor. Damn thing anyways causes some weird symptoms. Thanks for your help everybody.
