ok if i have read correctly, i am supposed to hook the vac check up to the intake mani for all my problems? I did this and the gauge shows that it stays between 17-16 g back n forth fast, in essance i think this means i have a bad valve stem seal or valve. i cant follow this book for ish, basicly i want to check out all my lines for any leaks, i can hear one when i drive the car . put all new hoses on but can still hear the leak coming from somewere

Perhaps a valve is not sealed the best. Not likely because it is so close to oem spec. . . My fp2x cams cause 15 inches in vacuum reading. It ran at about 17 before this. . . This is using my boost gage which has vacuum reading. So accuracy is in question.

How many miles on this engine? Have you run a compression check? How's your cam timing? personally I prefer a leak down test to a compression check or a vacuum tester. . .

yea its my original 420a engine im still building the new one but i want to make sure this one lasts until the exchange. i have the good ol smoke at idle wich ofcourse good ol DSM and the valve guide seals i just want to know how bad of shape there are in. im using a vacume tester on my intake many hose and i dont know what is normal on the test it wiggles from 17-16 gs and lvls out once gas is hit. so i know a valve is going

160k doing the compression this weekend. and timing is perfect, im the second owner of this car and let me tell you i have a book on all the upkeep the original owner has done.
