I plan on getting myself a custom exhaust made at a local shop very soon. I am in the process of finding a decent muffler to use but am having some trouble. I really like the look of the N1 but don't want to shell out $150+ for an authentic one. I've been checking out the cheapo ebay ones but haven't really come to a conclusion. Any one have any experience with these? If not, anyone know of any places where I can find a nice looking muffler similar to the N1 without the price? Thanx in advance for all the help. :thumb:

you dont want your car sounding like all those wanna be ricers. if i were you i would just fork up the cash and buy the GReddy muffler... its got the nice deep tone and doesnt sound like a fart can.. im sure everyone on here can agree with that. i dont think you will find a quality tone in a cheap muffler :dsm:

Very good point, I can't stand those bumble bee sounding cars. ROFL Which GReddy muffler are you talking about?

i have the complete evoII system... but if you can find the evoII muffler itself then you'll be in business

a turbo car will never sound "ricey". thats been the concensus on here on more than one occasion.

some will be louder, or higher toned than others but if i were you, i'd get a nice magnaflow, or a true N1.(personally i don't like bullet mufflers, im going with a oval single in dual out magnaflow) keeping a similar to stock look, with a nice straight through sound and performance.

it's all up to you, just know that you get what you pay for.

how are you getting it bent? and what size?

I agree with that guy^............turbo cars will never sound ricey. I also have a dual tip magnaflow muffler to put on my car. Its not always good to be cheap, you get what you pay for. Look into one of the 3in SS resonators on ebay too, that will help you with the nice deep sound if thats what your looking for :thumb:

I have been checking out the mufflers magnaflow had to offer and they look very nice. I want it to be 3" inlet with a single outlet, probably 4". The exhaust system will be 3" straight through and mandrel bent.

just go to magnaflowonline.com

you can find their SS w/tips for pretty cheap. or make your own with the tip and muff. you want.

im getting mine from kteller.com. it may be 170 bucks but it's a 3"inlet and dual 2.5" outlets with tips.

they've also got a 3"in 4"out with tip on there for maybe 125 or so. both are magnaflow.

just search around, people may say magnaflow is loud, but thats the only bad thing i've ever heard about em.

Absolutely and totally disagree. The riciest car I've evr heard was turboed. It whined like a nest of robot bees. Of course it was a honda....

I have an N1 muffler used for 2 months , $135 shipped to your door. :dsm:

very helpful. hmmmmm, i sense my own personal sarcasm there.

i decided over break not to get my own exhaust bent up. i got the new dejon exhaust.

2.5 to 3" dp, and a 3" dp back section with 2 bullet mufflers. this thing sounds MEAN. real real deep at idle and a damn jet at wot. i am the most pleased with the power increase over the stock exhaust, i spool what seems like instantly now. the best part is, i got the whole exhaust + install for less than an apexi dp and catback would be.

im not a huge fan of the bullet muffler under my car, but i like the sound. so just keep searching man. i would still recommend magnaflow though.

I was totally satisfied with the quality/sound(deep, not crazy loud) of the Magnaflow I had on my last GSX, well until the motor ate itself. I had a 3" turboback custom exhaust with just the muffler, 3" in, 3" out.

I have the Greddy Evo on my car as well. It sounds very nice but it's expensive. As for sound, I have never heard a DSM sound ricey so I wouldn't really worry.

shell out for the n1. there is no such thing as a ricey turboe'd dsm but the n1 sounds great and so does the magnaflow. i'd like to see the hks in use! or u could b crazy and go straight pipe with a big resonator!

look in my gallery. i have a megan 3" turbo n1 style muffler. real nice piece. real deep and low tone. i got it for $50 on ebay.
